FACEBOOK)+1, TBAYE$$/ 9:30pm////////////////////////// ////from WFMU’s Beware of the Blog;Nashville’s Finest: Natural ChildNashville  band Natural Child first came onto my radar during the most recent CMJ  Music Marathon when they crashed an Impose Magazine showcase (featuring  The Beets, The Girls At Dawn, and Smith Westerns, among others) and  basically stormed the stage, with an entourage of Nashville boys and  proceeded to play one of the most exciting, eneregetic, and ridiculous  punk sets I’d seen in a long time. I instantly fell in love.Natural  Child have a 7 inch and a cassette out on Infinity Cat Records, a label  they share with Nashville superstars JEFF The Brotherhood, and girly  punk band Heavy Cream, both of whom they play with frequently in  Nashville, often at a DIY venue called Glenn Danzig’s House.Natural  Child’s songs are all loud and driving, kind of reminiscent of The  Replacements, but in a charming, Southern way. From songs about being  forced to sleep with someone, to one about smoking crack with friends,  the lyrics are constantly entertaining.(more: WFMU)
 
We still get asked in interviews all the time “is there anything besides country music in Nashville?” Well dig it folks, there’s tons more! I love being from this city. Wish I still went to shows as much as I used to… I guess I could just… you know, go. Maybe while we’re off this winter? Much love to every band ever that is playing shows around Nashville. I love music.

Nashville’s Finest: Natural Child

Nashville band Natural Child first came onto my radar during the most recent CMJ Music Marathon when they crashed an Impose Magazine showcase (featuring The Beets, The Girls At Dawn, and Smith Westerns, among others) and basically stormed the stage, with an entourage of Nashville boys and proceeded to play one of the most exciting, eneregetic, and ridiculous punk sets I’d seen in a long time. This gorgeous couple were at the front of the barricade at our show the other night in Honolulu. They got engaged during “The Only Exception”… you know I had tears welling up in my eyes the whole time, so I had to let the crowd sing the rest of the first verse. Emo moment.
